Check out my little dog Finn laying under the tree in the background, which is exactly where he was the whole time I was working on this.
We have some friends who grow pumpkins commercially. We took a ride up to visit them a couple of weeks ago and came home with a car load of pumpkins.
We gave some away to friends and dumped the rest in the front yard, along with a few items I wanted to include in my yard display this year. And there it all sat.....waiting for inspirations to strike me.
Sometimes, I know exactly what I want to do. Last year, this was my fall yard display....
It was interesting to see this picture again because last year we had a terrible drought and this picture was taken about the same time in exactly the same place. The leaves were already gone, there was no shade and very little green. It was also in the upper 90's that day and I have to admit, I was hot, tired and not very enthusiastic. Things look a little happier this year.
Now, I'm trying to decide how much Halloween I can incorporate into this without making it way too creepy for prospective home buyers. Hmmmmm.........

Oh it's perfect Danni - LOVE those corn stalks and hay bale too !!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference a year makes ( you probably wouldn't have remembered the drought if you weren't a blogger and didn't have it documented LOL
XOXO
I love your display. I usually by lots of pumpkins and have decorated by now, but I haven't done a thing this year. So far, I'm just letting all the spider webs on my front porch be the decorations!
ReplyDeletefabulous display Danni! oh how I love fall....
ReplyDeletebuyers like creep! selling? moving?
ReplyDeleteIt really looks great and has wonderful curb appeal! I'm always amazed at the variety of pumpkins....all shapes and sizes!
ReplyDeleteJust leave off the spiders!
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful!!
ReplyDelete"Yeah, we were gonna make an offer, but the 4-foot tarantula on the porch makes me leery about what other critters may be calling this place home."
ReplyDeleteLook great Danni. You guys really go all out for fall.
ReplyDeleteAnne xx
Looks very fallish Danni! I LOVE all the different looking pumpkins. I finally bought 1 pumpkin. I was getting groceries and only 1 would fit in my cart. Hope to get more this weekend. We actually cut the top off like a lid and scooped out the seeds to roast. They were good! A little olive oil and salt.... yum.
ReplyDeletePerfection! I can see why you love pulling into your driveway - I would to :) Well guess what? I woke up to 2 inches of snow this morning.....and I love it :) Have a great weekend, friend.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Oh, Danni, that is so picturesque! The farm will miss you horribly when you're gone - who will decorate it then?
ReplyDeleteFinn is a sweetie, I love having a dog hang out and supervise while I'm crafting.
I think the display is very welcoming - bright colors draw people in. I would add one zombie hand creeping from under the pumpkins. Maybe a frozen Charlotte being guillotined. Oh, just a hint of a bloody gnawed bone with flesh on it! Those would surely seal the deal on the farm.
ReplyDeleteI just love the look of corn stalks with pumpkins in the fall. So festive!
ReplyDeleteI always love your decorations, Danni ! Another winner here :-) {our Jack Russel would carry/drag everything away - not lay down like your cutie ! } The other day our garden hose pipe was dragged INTO the house !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love the bird sitting in the midst of it all.
ReplyDeleteIs the farm on the market now?
It looks beautiful Danni, amazing what a good rain will do! Who wouldn't want a haunted farm ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous and welcoming autumn display. Being in the UK and not really decorating for fall or doing the whole pumpkin thing, I'm pretty amazed at the size and variety of pumpkins, they're just incredible !
ReplyDeleteLove it! It's perfect for fall!
ReplyDeleteYou are the pumpkin queen! This fall decor says real country all the way through and I love it.
ReplyDeleteWow what a difference from last year Danni - so glad there's no drought this year. I love this display - you are so creative my friend xxx
ReplyDeleteHey Danni! yes, it's amazing what a summer full of RAIN can do. Your display is so pretty, again. It barely looks fall here as well. One of my trees is dropping leaves finally. We've got the hurricane coming up from the Gulf so I doubt I'll be doing anything outside til it's gone. And my bones and muscles can feel it coming ;-(
ReplyDeleteIt looks awesome, Danni! I love fall and decorating for it, but this year I haven't done a single thing. (seems everything is put on hold right now!) How lucky to have a great supply of pumpkins, they really look perfect.
ReplyDeleteDebbie :)
I love it...and I loved last years display too, drought and all. My pathetic little display consists of two pumpkins that oranged up far too early and a squash that kinda looks like a warty pumpkin on my table :( So sad. How nice for your potential buyers to drive up and see such beauty. Definitely looking forward to the Halloween display! Make it really creepy so that someone fun buys your home!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful!! I agree, got have a little restraint on the creepiness, but still make it fun!! no bloody, disembodied hands or anything like that.
ReplyDeleteDanni,
ReplyDeleteIt looks awesome! I couldn't create that if I wanted to ... it's larger than my entire front yard!!!
:) Linda
Wow, what a difference in the foliage from last year to this year. It's a gorgeous arrangement!! Did you paint that skid black because that really adds that touch of Halloween without the creepiness? And all the various shapes, sizes and colors of pumpkins. No doubt you love driving up to your display, I love it!! ~ Amy
ReplyDeleteI have serious pumpkin-display envy. Will you come pretty up my yard? When I have one, that is?
ReplyDelete-andi
That looks like the perfect blend of all the wonderful things about fall. I almost didn't notice Finn under the tree. How do you keep all the squirrels and wildlife away from your pumpkins?
ReplyDeleteI adore pumpkins too!! I'm so glad my friend owns a farmers market. I get a great discount so i can go crazy !!
ReplyDeleteThe display looks great.
my oldest can't help but ask me all the times why everyone puts pumpkins outside their door :) I keep telling her "it's a Fall decorating thing"... love you display
ReplyDeleteIt came out great and I think prospective home buyers will enjoy it too.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great Danni! Love that plow. I had one of those many years ago but somehow I lost it somewhere....they are so cool.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful Danni! I love everything about it! Totally pinned :)
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I love the little crow sitting on top! You've inspired me Danni! I'm getting my display on today!
ReplyDeleteI would love to drive by you home...one day. Awesome display, Danni!!! So fun, so festive!!! Isn't fall the best!!!
