BUTTONS AND BLOGGERS

Oh, oh, oh!!!  Today is a special day here at my blog because after a full year of cajoling, begging and pleading, my best friend Judy wrote a guest post for me!!  I'm so excited to share it with you!!  If it wasn't for Judy, I wouldn't be a crafter at all!  She made this oh-so-cute bib for her granddaughter Nightingale (isn't that the sweetest girls name?) to wear in a wedding because she's a flower girl, a baby....and she drools!!!
So....without further adieu, here is my friend Judy's first blog guest post!!  (I'm so pleased!)
Hello Silo Hill Farm readers!  It’s been a little over a year since my dear friend Danni told me she was going to create a Silo Hill Farm blog.    A blog?  What does that entail?  I had heard of blogs , but was clueless.    She was very excited about the new adventure and I had no doubt that she could and would be successful in the blog world.
While she was visiting in AZ last February, her enthusiasm for blogging sparked my curiosity.  And although I don’t blog myself  I have enjoyed visiting  my favorite , “Silo Hill Farm”  and blogs she and her Inspiration Café friends mention, parties and other links that provide inspiration and encouraging words.
Danni has met several bloggers personally.    One in particular is Loy at Grandma Loy's Kitchen.    Loy visited  Danni at Silo Hilo Farm last year while vacationing in Arkansas.  They had a wonderful visit and have exchanged parcels over time.  In one of those parcels was a   button collection from Loy’s Grandmother and Mother – hundreds of buttons in every color and shape.     Well, who doesn’t love buttons!  We spent an evening at Danni’s kitchen table decompressing after a particularly hectic day of shopping and crafting.  We needed the calming effects sorting buttons would bring while snacking on a “No Fail Brownie” that Danni had made earlier (if she hasn’t shared this recipe perhaps she will in the future) .   When we called it quits for the evening,  Danni asked me to select a few buttons to bring home.    Well, I did and have used several of them already on  Snap Bags for Christmas presents  and most recently on a bib to be worn by my  fifteen month old Granddaughter in a wedding next month.
So, thank you Danni and Loy and all the other bloggers for making a non-bloggers day brighter whenever I visit one of your blogs.  You inspire me and I’m impressed by your many talents, creativity and taking the time to share yourselves with all of us.
Here is the bib I made for Nigh to wear in the wedding using one of Loy’s buttons.
Thank you Judy! That is a beautiful bib!  You must promise to let me post a picture of the beautiful Nigh wearing it with her flower girl dress! Now if I could only get you to start your own blog!!  (My goal for this New Year!!)  I miss you every day my friend!
Also, thank you Loy for giving me that HUGE box of glorious buttons....I love them all!  If you guys are looking for some seriously great recipes...head to Grandma Loy's Kitchen....yumm!
Really, don't you guys think Judy should start a blog and share her wonderful projects with the world??!!

  2. Yes! She really does need to have her own blog! She's very creative and original! She mentions several things she's made and we need to know more about them such as showing us her Snap Bags! Keep prodding her Danni, maybe she'll come around.

  6. Anyone who could come up with a wedding bib would definitely make it to my blog list! Thanks for sharing that one, Judy. I took my oldest son to a wedding when he was a month old. (He was invited, really.) Wish I'd thought to make him a fancy bib for that special event.
