2 Ingredient Scones - Really? Really!

This is not my idea or original recipe. When I first saw this at a link party, I was pretty sure these would taste like cardboard. Oh I was so pleasantly surprised!  You can find the original post from "A Crafty Cook " here , but I'm happy to share my experience with you right here on this page.
Of course, the first thing I did was get the wrong kind of muffin mix (just add water instead of just add milk).  Anyway, here's what you need:
Yep...that's it.  1 small package of "just add milk" muffin mix (any flavor) and 1/2 Cup of sour cream.

I decided to try it, even though I had the wrong kind of mix.  Why not??  Here's what you do:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  In a medium bowl., stir muffin mix and sour cream until it forms a soft dough.  Place dough on a lightly floured surface and pat into a 6" circle.  Cut into 8 triangles.  ( I used a pizza cutter.)

Place 1" apart on a lightly greased baking sheet. (I'm a PAM lover.)  Bake for 14 minutes or until golden brown.  Remove from oven and let cool 10 minutes.

If you want frosting (and my husband always does).  You need these things:
Combine 1 Cup Powdered Sugar with 1 Tbsp. of Milk (a little more if needed) and 1/2 tsp. vanilla.
Spread over warm rolls. You can thin it out and drizzle it if you're a drizzler.  They're probably prettier if you do....but ya get less icing.
Call a friend and invite them over to eat some scones with you!!  These turned out really good, even with the "just add water mix".  I will make these again!!  Don't they look yummmmmmy!!

    1. It was my pleasure and I just picked up an apple muffin mix and thought I'd try some cheddar cheese in it.
