SILO HILL FARM SOUP

This easy, hearty soup is one of our favorites here at Silo Hill Farm.  It's fast, easy, filling, flavorful and my husband who loathes "cream of anything" soup will eat this any time I fix it!
Here is all you need to make it....
The star of this soup is without a doubt, cumin.  It's a spice that is flavorful enough to hold it's own against the broccoli and sausage which are both heavy in flavor.  Don't skimp on the cumin!
This is so easy to make it's not even funny.
  • Brown and drain 1/2lb. of sausage.  Set aside.
  • Put soup and 2 cups of milk in a 2 qt. pan.
  • Add 2 tsp. (more if you like) cumin and heat through.
  • Add browned sausage and heat until steaming.
I served mine with pretzel rolls. If you like, you can sprinkle a little cheddar on the top.  So good!
I'm sharing this recipe next week at 4 You With Love, because Marilyn is having a party....check it out.....

She'll be giving a way a set of spices from....

Wouldn't these be fun to win?
Dig out some of your recipes using the above spices and get ready to link them up next week at 4 You With Love!

  4. I'm going to try this! My son's argument against soup is the lack of meat so maybe this will assuage him! Thanks for posting it.

  5. This would be so welcome now, Danni! It has gone from a warm Autumn Day yesterday to an icy cold {and rainy} day overnight here in SA.

  13. Looks like we're nowhere out of the soup weather here yet! I admit I don't use cumin except for pickling. I'd better take a look at it since I do love spices.
