Pallet Board Candlescape and a Party

A couple of weeks ago I was down by my creek doing a little clean up, getting ready for spring.  I came across an antler shed.  It was just laying there next to my stone fire ring waiting to be found.  I picked it up and brought it in the house thinking I would do something with it.  It just kind of sat around on a shelf for a couple of weeks waiting for inspiration to hit me.
A few river stones that I gathered from the Missouri River when I lived in Montana, a piece of dried moss, a candle and the pallet board scrap leftover from THIS project and I have a candlescape that even my husband likes.

I'll take this moment to remind you that our once a month link party for Tongue-In-Cheek Tuesday is coming up next week.  This months theme is "Total Couture Tuesday" where we'll all be poking a little fun at ourselves about what we really wear when were home, hanging around the house, doing what we do and hoping the fashion police don't stop by.  If you want to join in, (and we hope you will) just snap a picture of your oh-so-casual "haute couture", write a funny post about it and link it up here or on any of the blogs listed below.  We don't have any special rules or anything.  We just like to make a little fun of ourselves!  We can promise you this....we will never be the stars of "What I Wore Wednesday".  We don't have the fashion sense....at least not on Tuesdays!  (We also promise you a few laughs.)

Linking up at any or all of the fine parties listed at the bottom of this page as well as....

  15. I love your candlescape, Danni!! How lucky you are to have a creek on your property, and to be able to find little surprises such as an antler shed. The best I can do is my gutter downspout and perhaps a squirrel visit, or two!!

  17. Well, that is a bit of magic: finding an antler next to your firepit. I love how you've created a little piece of nature to live indoors.

Also.. a creek?!?! Are there pictures? I'm so jealous!

  20. You've done it again... where do you get your inspiration? I love it. My hubby hunts, we have hundreds of antlers. literally. He's hunted all of his life and he's a shed hoarder. I've just recently used 1 in a vignette. It's funny, when things are so accessible, you don't think to use them. At least that's me... :-/

  25. I agree with hubby on this being the perfect candle display! That you collected all the bits and pieces, and they remind you of special places, makes it even better.

  26. This is what my sister and I would call "Classy cowboy" Love it. I've got to convince the husband to bag me a deer so I can have a pretty antler in my house...at the very least a jackalope.

  27. Danni I really like how you styled this display, it looks like a piece of art. It's so pretty! I can't believe I haven't gotten antlers yet, they're so expensive when I find them in the antique stores around her.
