I will confess to you that I have had time for a brief affair....with some spray paint. Yes, I fell in love with Rustoleum's "Metallic Paint and Primer in One" in Satin Nickel. It may not be over yet, but we're having a grand time. We met by candlelight.....
We've had a shady relationship that started out as pretty ugly.....
but then bloomed into a shadowy albeit elegant romance.
We brazenly exchanged numbers in the evening, under the brassy porchlight.
We were as happy as a pair of lovebirds atop a shimmery, silvery, satiny branch.
As our affair progressed, we dared to venture into the guest bedroom. (Somehow, it just didn't seem right to bring this affair into my own bedroom.)
But then things fell to pieces and our time ran out....
This love affair had to end sometime and I knew I had to come back to my senses. It's a return to reality for me and my new house.
This weeks reality is the craft room, which has looked like this since I moved in. Don't judge.
And now I'm falling in love again....this time with an oceany blue. I was always such a sucker for those cute beachy boys! Now that I've mostly moved in and mostly unpacked, I'm excited to get started on this room and it's one beautiful oceany-blue wall.
I did make a kick-a$$ craft shelf that I saw on pinterest and I can't tell you how much I love it! Okay, yes I can, but I'll save that for another post. Okay, I'll give you just a leetle peek at it....
While I'm busy organizing my new craft room, I want to let you know that I have an amazing guest post for you this Friday from Sherry over at Thrift My House. I know that many of you already know you're in for a treat and I'm going to tell you right now that I'll be knocking off the fabulous project that she did for this guest post in my own master bedroom. I'll also tell you right now that her black and white master bedroom was the inspiration for my guest bedroom. So, come back Friday and see what Sherry made!
In the meantime, I'm heading into my own Horror Monster of a craft room (as my friend Donna would say) and see if I can't tame that beast and get back to some project love.
Oh...and did I mention that I sold all of my living room furniture at our garage sale on Saturday? Yeah...now we have nowhere to sit. Smart move, huh?
Your craft room is going to be fantastic Danni - love that blue and the table is just fantastic ( all that storage for spray paint lovers !!! )
ReplyDeleteLove your guest room - and will probably be using it in the fall after our cruise :)
XOXO
You are BACK with a titillating post, dear one. Your boyfriend should definitely meet my Hammered Rosemary - I think it would be a marriage born in heaven Love all those metallic finishes. Beautiful color in the craft room (which I hate to tell you does resemble Horror Monster in a miniature way). I am bright green with envy over the craft table - please tell its secrets. I now understand the CA garage sale if you sold all your living room furniture - not the beautiful sofa you bought back months ago, though? Right?
ReplyDeleteNice to see your post in my blog roll this morning! :) Lots of fun projects in your home. I love that craft room shelving. Can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteHey Danni!!! So glad to be reading your post! Can't believe you're romanticizing painting and renovating, etc., but then on the other hand, coming from you, you see the best and beauty in everything. How cute and creative you are!!! Please keep it up! Did you really get rid of your white sofa?
ReplyDeleteBliss is wearing Popeye pajamas and now you are a Shady Lady! It's only Tuesday and my girls have run amok!
ReplyDeleteThis was hilarious!
The brassy porch light and number makeover is my favorite!!! What a beautiful buncha transformations. I will assume that Mr. Silohillfarm is on board with your dalliances. So nice to hear from you!
ReplyDeleteOh Danni! I'm happy to read that you are in your house. Glad to read your love affair is so very g rated :). I'm loving that you have a craft room and I really want that beautiful craft table you made!!!
ReplyDeleteYou're a nut! Love your new "affair" with the rustoleum color! Amazing how paint can change things! Your craft room is going to be wonderful. I hope you have fun pulling it together! That blue is so pretty! I'm so glad you're posting! Missed you! See ya Friday :-)
ReplyDeleteIf your guest room is any indication, your craft room is going to look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteWow... look at you with your DIY skills! What an awesome giant wine rack! I want one! Although in my house wine and crafting do not always a good combination make. Seriously, that is one amazing shelf unit. Sooo loving that serene blue, and that black and white bedspread in your guest room reminds of a toile... sooo pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love beach colours - my all time faves. Things are getting done!!! Good for you guys!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly are over the moon with your new affair ! I also like all of Rust-O-Leum's products but have not tried any metallic/satin finishes yet - yours turned out awesome, so maybe I'll grab a can one of these days. And blue definitely is very beachy and fun !
ReplyDeleteOoooh... I am loving Mr. Nickel. 'Very sexy! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
ReplyDeleteYay! Danni's back! I'm going to be redoing the craft room this summer (or at least get it started), so I'm anxious to see what you're doing!
ReplyDeleteYou have definitely been busy with all that lovin! My craft room looks organized compared to mine and I haven't even moved so definitely no judgement from me! Glad you are back.
ReplyDeleteI sincerely hope that you intended to sell that furniture and it wasn't a case of random people making off with it. I suspect you have a grand plan for the replacements!
ReplyDeletelittle by little the house feels like home. Hope you can get some living room furnitures soon
ReplyDeleteThings are really coming along for you in the new house, yay!! I love your 101 ways to use metallic spray paint and primer. Those paint and primer mixes are the bomb. I'm just so happy for you that it's all coming together and I can't wait to see what you have going on in your craft room. That craft shelf is the double-bomb, so if that is any indication, you are going to be dialed in, you lucky girl!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like things are progressing nicely
ReplyDeleteDanni you're doing so well with getting things done in spite of being busy, Mine would just still be living out of boxes if I had everything on my schedule you had!
ReplyDeleteLove spray paint! Love how you used it in ALMOST every room! LOL
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your craft room, love the blue color.
Hugs,
Patti
I'm glad that spray paint affair is over cuz I've got a ceiling fan desperately in need of some silver spray paint love. I think I'll pick Mr. Silver up at the hardware store and introduce the two.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see that craft room. Does the rest of the house really matter? I WANT those shelving units. I probably already have it posted to my pinterest page. Must go check.
Your makeovers with the spray paint are amazing, and I love the little outside light, it's so cute.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're enjoying your new home, the guest room looks wonderful so I'm sure your craft room will too.
I'm a bit weird maybe because I'd love a 'horror monster' room like that to sort out. I'd be in my element !
I just wanted to say thanks for leaving comments on my blog. For some reason your comments aren't coming through on my e-mail, so I wasn't very quick to reply because I couldn't find an older e-mail.
Anyway, a sand court is for volley ball, beach tennis and beach football. It's little a couple of old tennis courts dug out and turned into one large sand pit !
That should have read 'it's literally a couple.......'
ReplyDeleteClean your dang house, you lazy bum. :P And living room furniture is highly overrated. =D

Don't you hate when the spray paint gets on your trigger (pointer) finger? Yeah, I always know when someone is having that kind of affair if the tip of the finger is any color other than flesh.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! The couch is gone! Aren't you ecstatic? Hope you find a place to sit soon though. I've had my own spray painters hands this week. Argh!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the craft room! I don't judge you for your affair. Sometimes a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!
ReplyDeleteI love that spray paint too, and I've used it on oretty much anything that isn't moving. My craft room is one of my favorite places to be, and I have a feeling yours will be as well!
