I love the way that it sunk down into the wood grain and still left the design of the napkin visible. It's kind of ethereal looking which is what you want when your looking at ghosts, right? I trimmed it out with a little bit of black ribbon on the front edges. It was kind of hard to get a good picture of it because the mod podge left it kind of shimmery as well.
I think I'll fill it with candy and put it by the front door. We live in the country so we don't get any trick-or-treaters except my niece and nephew and the grandchildren. Here is a photo of my favorite little witch, my niece Jessica. She made her own costume!
She wants to do some crafting with me! You'll be seeing her again!
I also want to let you know that my friend Marci, from Stone Cottage Adventures, made my Caramel Corn recipe and put her own spin on it! If you were wondering if you could make it with real popcorn, go over and check her recipe out! It looks and sounds amazing! (I'm going to be meeting Marci in person soon and I'm very excited! She'll be the second blogger I'll actually get to meet!) You know I'll be posting about that! If you aren't familiar with Stone Cottage Adventures, you might want to be, she does some very awesome stuff!
Very clever! It makes a cool Halloween decor!
ReplyDeleteI thought I was one of your linky followers, but I wasn't….but I am now!

You can't even tell it's a napkin! It looks painted on! That is so cool :0
ReplyDeleteYour niece is very creative, and is going to be an amazing crafter. What an awesome costume she made!
Hi, Danni! Thanks so much for the Shout Out! That box is wonderful! I love how it looks like a painted scene, but you can still see the texture of the wood. Awesome! Jessica just might be the cutest witch I've ever seen! Thanks again! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
ReplyDeleteThat box looks great! If I hadn't read it I would have sworn it was painted. Love the aged look of it.
ReplyDeleteAwesome little project! I didn't know that Mod Podge is so great when it comes to deep grain wood. You are right, the napkin gives it a vintage and ethereal look, perfect for ghosts :)))) Danni, thank you again so much for the vote on Apartment Therapy, your kind gesture means the world to me!
ReplyDeleteThe tool box came up great. I've wanted to do napkins but it scares me, I'm too rough. Your niece made her own costume? She is a crafty girl, can't wait to see hat you come up with,
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderfully old and loved, like an heirloom!
ReplyDeleteThe way the napkin sank into the grooves of the wood is very cool and aged looking! Have fun crafting with the cute niece of yours! Crafting with kids is the best.
ReplyDeleteI love the way the tool box turned out. And, I love that your neice designed her own costume.
ReplyDeleteIf she could make that costume, she will be a great craft assistant! I love the toolbox! ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteThat is very clever ! And looks good :-) I do a lot of decoupage, but I have a "heavy" hand when it comes to paper napkins - they ALWAYS tear. Nicely done, Danni
ReplyDeleteThis is really lovely! I especially like how the napkin sinks into the wood. And your little witch is gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little witch. My oldest girl will be one this Halloween. That box is so fun too. Mod podgeing a napkin is great idea, so rustic looking.
ReplyDeleteOh, this is one of my favourites. It turned out great and what a fantastic idea to use that napkin. You rock!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a great idea! You are so creative, Danni. :) Megan
ReplyDeleteDanni! Only you would think to put a Halloween spin on an old tool box. I love it! Your niece is adorable. I love that she wants to do some crafting with you. I can't wait to see more of her. And, how fun that you'll be meeting another blogger in person. I hope it's as good as your last experience.
ReplyDeleteYour toolbox looks fantastic all decked out for Halloween. Your niece is adorable in her costume.

What a great toolbox! I love how you did that and your niece is so cute!
ReplyDeleteYou know how much I love toolboxes - this one is adorable. I have used tissue paper, but never a napkin. I picked some bird ones up last month. I will have to find them to try something like this. Jessica is so cute in that costume - she must be a good witch!
ReplyDeleteThe toolbox turned out beautifully hun. I have a beachy napkin that I've been keeping to try to decoupage with but I'm too nervous. And how lucky are you to be meeting another blogger!!! xxx
ReplyDeleteI never would have dreamed a napkin could make rough wood look like that! You have the best ideas, Danni, and the talent to make it work. Jessica is a little doll, and crafty, too. I love the expression on her sweet face.
ReplyDeletelove it, Danni! Looks like the tool box my Pawpaw used when I was little. Brought back great memories. Love what you did with yours. P
ReplyDeletePinned to my tote board.

ReplyDeleteThe napkin was perfect!! It looks like it was painted, and looks awesome. That is the cutest witch ever, too! She's following in her aunt's footsteps. She did a great job on her costume. :)
ReplyDeleteVery cool - and a napkin? That's awesome!
