(I've been watching this little patch for a while.)
But this year, I think we are all lucky because suddenly bittersweet seems to be in abundance! Last year, you couldn't hardly find any. This year.....there are fence walls of it!
Some years the greenhouses, decor shoppes and floral shops get to it before anyone. I found a mother-lode of it and I hope it's not the mother-in-law-lode!!! This stuff is incredibly beautiful in fall decor and you'll be seeing some of it hanging around on my blog over the next several weeks. In the meantime, it will be hanging around this fence panel behind my house (away from the peering eyes of passerbys) waiting for me to get out there and strip some of the leaves off of it.
Nothing says fall in Missouri like bittersweet berries and vines!
Here's a close-up of those beautiful orange berries before they open.
Those berries will "pop" open soon and I promise you they will be beautiful!
I also promise you that I will post a picture of them when they do!
